What makes your breeding program different?
We focus on:
• Health testing and genetic planning
• Structured early development
• Clean, hands-on raising
• Education and support for our families
• Matching puppies thoughtfully, not randomly
We don’t just produce puppies — we raise future family members.
What’s the difference between Goldendoodles and Bernedoodles?
Goldendoodles (Golden Retriever x Poodle) • Typically friendly, outgoing, and eager to please • Often great family and companion dogs • Usually higher energy and very social Bernedoodles (Bernese Mountain Dog x Poodle) • Often calmer, affectionate, and deeply loyal • Frequently more laid-back than Goldendoodles • Great family dogs with a gentle, loving nature Both breeds are intelligent, people-oriented, and thrive as part of the family.
Can you guarantee temperament, size, or allergies?
We cannot guarantee adult size, coat type, temperament, or allergy compatibility.
What we can do is:
• Carefully select breeding pairs
• Health and genetic test our dogs
• Provide early neurological stimulation and socialization
• Offer honest, educated guidance
Every puppy is an individual.
How big will my puppy get?
Adult size depends on genetics, parent size, and generation. We can give an estimated range based on the parents, but no breeder can guarantee exact adult weight.
Are Goldendoodles and Bernedoodles hypoallergenic?
There is no such thing as a completely hypoallergenic dog. No breed or mix can ever be guaranteed allergy-free. What people usually mean by “hypoallergenic” is low-shedding and more allergy-friendly. Embark does not test for a “hypoallergenic gene” because one doesn’t exist. Instead, it tests for coat traits like furnishings, curl, and shedding. Our Goldendoodles and Bernedoodles are bred with a strong focus on Poodle genetics, which are associated with low-shedding coats. Many families with mild to moderate allergies do very well with doodles, but allergies are caused by dander and saliva proteins, not just hair, so individual reactions can vary. If allergies are a concern, we always recommend spending time around similar dogs before bringing a puppy home.
Are doodles good family dogs?
Yes! Both Goldendoodles and Bernedoodles are known for being affectionate, intelligent, and family-oriented. They typically do very well with children when properly socialized and raised with structure, boundaries, and love. As with all dogs, training, consistency, and supervision with young children are essential.
Do your puppies shed and require grooming?
Most of our puppies are expected to be low-shedding, but coat types can vary. Some puppies may shed minimally, while others may shed slightly more, especially during seasonal changes or puppy coat transitions. We review coat genetics, parent coats, and past litters to give families the most accurate expectations possible.Low-shedding coats require regular grooming. Most doodles need:
• Brushing several times per week
• Professional grooming every 6–8 weeks
• Early introduction to grooming routines
Without proper grooming, doodle coats can mat, which is uncomfortable and unhealthy.
Do you health test your dogs?
Yes. Our breeding dogs are health tested, including genetic screening, to reduce the risk of passing on known hereditary conditions. Puppies are also seen by a veterinarian, receive age-appropriate care, and go home with health documentation.
What does Embark testing tell you?
Embark testing provides information on:
• Breed makeup
• Genetic health risks
• Coat traits (curl, furnishings, shedding, color)
• Inbreeding coefficient
It does not determine temperament, size, or whether a dog is “hypoallergenic.” We use Embark as one of many tools to help us breed for healthier dogs and predictable traits.
